Lee Alverson, Ph.D. Dr. Alverson, the founding father of Natural Resources Consultants and currently its Senior Scientist, is widely known throughout the world for his work in the areas of fisheries science. He is the author of more than 150 scientific and technical articles concerned with fisheries behavior, life history, ecology, state of stocks and, more recently, fisheries bycatch. He has held a large number of national and international leadership positions over his career including Chairman of the FAO Marine Resource Research Committee, Chief Salmon Negotiator between U.S. and Canada, Member of the Presidents Review Team on the Bolt Decision, Director of the NMFS/NOAA Northwest and Alaska Science Center, Acting Director and Director of Research of the U.S. Bureau of Commercial Fisheries, Executive Director of the Fisheries Management Foundation, Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington School of Fisheries and Institute of Marine Affairs and has served on the Board of Directors for ICLARM, Ocean Trust Foundation and the North Pacific Marine Science Foundation. |
